- Pediatric Diabetes, Renal, Obesity, high cholesterol levels
Her thoughts about the nutrition problems faced by Indians living abroad- “Having lived and worked in 3 different continents, it always amazes me how different cultures perceive nutrition and what is categorized as Healthy dietary habits. I have a deep understanding of Indian diets and that of other South Asians (Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Nepalis) based in their home country as well as around the world. In my personal experience, I have realized that Indians settled abroad face with slightly different dietary challenges which include – finding a dietitian who understands Indian diets and can prescribe Indian based diet charts with the occasional inclusion of some Western foods. Sometimes the problem lies in the simple fact that visiting an Indian dietitian in person, who is affordable and easily accessible is not feasible. But with an Indian Dietitian available for consultations online, it doesn’t matter which part of the world you live in!
